This L-29 is the second to last to ever be produced in 1973. It went to the Romanian Air Force were it spent its entire military life. The aircraft has meticulous original maintenance records and logs which show every flight it has had from the day of production until it was disassembled and imported to the US. After the aircraft was imported it was properly preserved in the US for a number of year until I acquired it in 2020. It had not been registered or flown in the US until that point.
After purchasing the aircraft, our team inspected, serviced, and test flew the aircraft. The only minor modifications are the installation of a US radio and an ADSB out transponder, LED taxi light bulb, US batteries, and a nitrogen shutoff valve to retain N2 when the aircraft is sitting for extended periods of time.
The aircraft is as stock as an L-29 can get and flies perfectly. There are no known discrepancies and the jet fires right up. The oxygen system has not been tested and is INOP. 95% of the aircraft is stripped of paint and is bare aluminum, so the hard work is done and it is near ready for a paint of your choosing. There is a little bit of original paint to be removed around the tail section.
The landing gear was completely stripped and repainted. All brake hoses and fuel lines changed as a precaution although they were in great shape.
The red nose cone and wingtips were repainted and some original fasteners replaced with stainless steel.
New tires and tubes all around as well as new brake pads with less than 15 landings on them.
The original gunsight and camera system is fully functional and installed, however easily removed to increase forward visibility.
Drop tanks are included and fully functional. Upload / download in 30 minutes or less.
The cabin pressure and temperature controller is fully functional providing a 10,000ft cabin at 18,000ft.
2 US Airforce style seat parachutes that have been inspected and are in date are included.
All fluids and filters have been cleaned/replaced and the aircraft will come with a fresh conditional inspection.
Records show that the aircraft went through an IRAN about 900 hrs ago. Has a total airframe time of 3001 hrs and had 465 hrs on the engine. Our FAA approved Maintenace program allow the engine to continue to stay in service "on condition" for another 240 hrs.
No spares are in included in the sale.
The following can be offered at additional cost:
Pratt and Whitney J-60 engine which tuns this aircraft into a beast.
L-29 initial training / L-29 experimental authorization
