Description

It would take just short of a novel to explain the whole story on this aircraft. We will try here, but give me a call if you want to go over any questions. A one-off Bravo unlike any other in existence. If you know Mooneys well, you will know that Mooney didn’t make a Bravo in 2007. While technically correct, this plane was actually certified airworthy and delivered in by Mooney in 2007. But that is just trivia. Here is what you really need to know about the plane. This plane was provided by Mooney to the guys at Garmin as an experimental aircraft in ‘03 in order to certify the G-1000 for the Mooneys. You may know, that the G-1000 was not available until 2005 models. Then, the aircraft went back to Garmin and they certified the GFC-700 Autopilot in the aircraft. You may also know that the GFC-700 was not available in a Mooney until the 2007 Models. As far was we know, it is the only Bravo in existence with the GFC-700 autopilot (unless someone paid the $75,000 price tag to upgrade from their STEC-55X). After Garmin finished, plane then went back to Mooney where it was serviced, brought up to new standards, and was production certified airworthy for the first time at 299 hours in 2007. Then it flew off to Firewall Forward in Colorado for engine work (Crakshaft AD plus a ton of other work including the STC for the Centrilube Camshaft!). Then back to Mooney for a redo of the interior prior to delivery to the first owner. The end result of all this; a one-off Bravo unlike any other in existence.
