Overhaul and 12-year information: R66s require an overhaul every 2000 hours or 12 years, whichever comes first. This helicopter will be completing a 12-year inspection in September. This will extend the items replaced for 12 additional years and 2000 hours. The remaining items that are not replaced in the 12-year inspection will have 778 hours until they need to be overhauled or replaced. Therefore an overhaul is due in 778 hours but will not have to replace the items that were done during the 12-year inspection making the cost of the overhaul considerably less.
