This original 1945 / 1946 J-45 is a perfect example of what made this model legendary. An instrument with an insane resonance, with a powerful bass considering that the back and sides are made of mahogany, with an indescribable definition. The top is made of solid spruce, while the back and sides are made of solid mahogany. The neck is not gigantic and houses the truss rod. The earlier production instruments did not have a truss rod, due to war restrictions.
