Description

This 1970's Gibson Ripper Bass Guitar features Bill Lawrence designed pickups and a Q-system electronics four way tone selector switch with some interesting configurations (including both pickups in-phase wired in series, back pickup only, both pickups in-phase wired in parallel, and both pickups out-of-phase wired in series.) The aggressive tone is favored by such players as Krist Novoselic, Carol Kaye, Bobby Markos, Lou Barlow and Suzi Quatro. Body:  Maple in Natural finish. Neck:  Maple with a Maple fingerboard, 34” scale length, 1.56 ” nut width, 20 frets, pearl dot inlays. Pickups/Hardware: Bill Lawrence Super Humbucker Ripper pickups, Gibson tuning keys, replacement bridge, black speed knobs,  bone nut. Cosmetics:  This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches on the body and has large spots of honest wear The back of the neck has honest wear that does not affect playability, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has light buckle rash. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic. Playability:  Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is adjusted, and extra light strings are highly recommended. (40-95 are currently on) and the action has been setup low and comfortable. Weight:  8 lbs. 8 oz. Case:  This guitar ships with a hardshell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
