Description

Northwest Vintage Guitars presents one of the best Les Pauls we've ever had in the shop.  It's part of a few short runs of Classics in the early 2000s with this greening honey finish, yellowing fretboard inlays, and the ink stamped serial starting with "00...", it looks like a 1960 Les Paul.  Seriously, this one is special.  It was a local musician's axe for may years, then our owner's, then to the local legend luthier where everyone that played tried to buy it.  The owner got it back in trade and it's been his #1 LP for a long time.  It was recently replaced with an incredible R9.  The original pickups are long gone, but that 1960 pickguard is still there.  It's 9 lbs, 2 oz and resonant as all get out.  Unpotted Lindy Fralin Pure PAFs are the ticket for perfect PAF tone.  It's warm, woody, and sonorous.   The nut measures 1.70", neck depth is .82"-.92" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.  It's the 60's C carve.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.   There was once an added Babitz system with Robotuners that are long gone.  They came from the original owner/local musician. He REALLY wanted to stay in tune - and it worked very well, but the Babitz and the Robotuners had to go.   They added almost a pound of weight!  The Babitz required Bridge post inserts.  Those have been doweled with cross grain maple plugs by the local Legend Luthier.  A Proper ABR-1 has been professionally installed.   The tuners are aged RS.  Pickups are Lindy Fralin custom wound unpotted Pure PAFs.  There are numerous dings, dents, scratches, scuffs, and polishing marks as pictured.  It's a well worn patina that looks incredible.  We aren't interested in entertaining discounts on this item so please don't message us.  It can stay here in the shop for as long as it wants.
