Description

1959 Gibson ES-345TDThin line semi-hollow double-cutaway body with a laminated maple top, back, and sides with a tobacco sunburst finish with f-holes. Two original "double white" PAF humbucking pickups, original ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge, original stop-bar tailpiece, and four original gold-color "bonnet style" control knobs. One piece Mahogony neck with adjustable truss-rod. Peghead is the classic "open book" shape and has the Mother-of-Pearl Gibson logo and crown peghead inlays, 22-fret Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid double parallelogram inlays and single-ply white edge binding on fingerboard and body back. Housed in the original hard-shell case with brown leatherette exterior covering and pink plush interior lining.The fingerboard has been re-fretted.The string nut is new, but the original has been retained with the instrument.The truss-rod cover has been replaced. Other sets of tuners have been previously exchanged on the peghead. The current tuners are not original and are pre-1956 nickel-plated tuners. The original strap buttons have been replaced with modern strap-Lok buttons.The screw coil on the neck pickup has been rewound with period correct plain enamel wire. The pickup covers are not original and are Throback aged gold pickup covers. The pickup rings are original. The electronics are non-original with new pots and orange drop capacitors. The original Varitone circuit has been removed and modified but retained with the instrument. The Varitone knob does not currently function, due to this modification. This guitar has been professionally rewired by a luthier to the typically preferred mono output vs. the originally wired stereo output. This guitar has been professionally set up.
