If you're looking for the ultimate classic mapleneck Strat, you're in for a real treat. Dale Wilson, the current number one masterbuilder of the Fender Custom Shop, presents a 1959 Journeyman Stratocaster that really packs a punch. Selected, lightweight ash body, AA flame neck, “John Mayer” pickups handwound by Josefina Campos and a black-anodized pickguard. The neck has a “59 Esquire C” profile making it a little stronger, but by no means fat. It has a super pleasant feel and the guitar plays excellently with the 6105 frets and the traditional 7.25'' fretboard radius. And this Stratocaster is really resonant and in combination with the “John Mayer” pickups a real tone monster: beautifully pearly, bell-like and balanced! And as befits a Mapleneck/Esche-Strat it is extremely direct in its response, but never gets too sharp or thin in sound. It also sounds like it has been played in for a very long time. So if you like “Gravity”, “Vultures” or John Mayer's version of “Bold As Love”, you've come to the right place! The fact that the rare “Dirty White Blonde” finish and a subtle Journeyman relicing, which is mainly limited to hairline cracks and a few small quirks, are also part of the overall package only makes this Strat even more attractive. Dale Wilson once again impressively proves that he knows how to create the perfect symbiosis of looks, playability and sound. The guitar is in absolute top condition.incl. original case, certificate, spec sheet, strap, case candyweight: 3220 gramssubject to differential taxation
