Awesome old FujiGen built Fender Jazzmaster in factory finished Candy Apple Red. This one is an absolute beast, she’s a true grunge-era Jazzmaster from 1988-89 (MIJ H-Serial), we don’t find many from this period as Jazzmasters were not in anything like the demand like they are these days. This is from way back when they were Fender stamping their neckplates for Jazzmasters! There are some other big difference between this and modern MIJ Jazzmasters, first off it is made from ash, not alder or basswood. The finish is very thin indeed showing the outline of the ash grain underneath under the right lighting. It was finished in Candy Apple Red but unlike all the subsequent versions of this model it was not given a matching headstock. We specialise in rare and vintage Fender Japan models and this is the first Jazzmaster we have ever seen with an MIJ H serial prefix. It has a rosewood fretboard, maple neck with a vintage 7.25" radius and original 3-ply red tort pickguard. It is all still factory spec with no mods or repairs. Neck dead straight, truss rod fine & some wear showing in the frets but still plenty of life left in them. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. As mentioned above she is old, Kurt was still alive when this Jazzmaster was built! If you’re looking for some sterile shop floor Mexican offset she definitely ain’t for you, but that said its is a very clean guitar form the age. This to me is what a Jazzy is all about. Plenty of natural ageing & some bumps and scratches etc, all the good stuff, light wear but with none of the bad stuff - nothing nasty has ever happened to it, no breaks or repairs. Weight is slightly heavier due to the ash body at 3.7kg. It is of course complete with trem arm & padded Fender Japan softcase. All in all a very cool '66 RI quality built FujiGen Fender Jazzmaster.Buy with confidence, Gas Station Guitars is a limited UK company and we offer a no question 14-day refund policy on all our guitars.
