Here is a very desirable unit: 1983 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Silverburst finish. This guitar is in 100% original condition and is very solid with no breaks, cracks or repairs of any kind. It was made on Monday October 31st 1983 at the Gibson factory in Nashville Tennessee, U.S.A. A Halloween guitar. The finish has a slight toning and looks killer with just enough vintage mojo that no one will mistake it for some sort of 'reissue'.The body is in very nice condition and binding is solid. The finish is very clean with some slight checking in the finish. It looks so cool. The sides and backside are clean as well. There is a sticker shadow or something like that above the control cavity area-see photos. The neck joint is solid and the neck angle is excellent. The neck itself has a little bit of wear in the clear-see photos. The neck is straight and has a nice, clean smooth feel. The profile is the typical vintage Les Paul Custom shape: C-shaped slim taper. It measures .830" at the 1st fret and .971" at the 12th fret. The nut is 1.72" wide for excellent string spacing. The tuners all function well and they are the flip out speed tuners-original to the guitar as is everything. The headstock and logo display excellent with some checking providing an excellent vintage vibe-see photos. The ebony fingerboard is clean as are the position markers. The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished and appear near-new condition-see photos. The action is set low for a fast and easy playing experience. The string height measures .010" at the 1st fret and .050" at the 12th fret. The guitar plays awesome up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots anywhere. In addition to looking great and feeling great-now we get to maybe the best part; the tone. This guitar is luck enough to have come from the factory with the coveted Tim Shaw humbuckers! The pickups both have an excellent signal. The neck output reads 7.34 ohms and the bridge reads 7.24 ohms. They have a great balance and the guitar just screams bloody murder. The potentiometers all date to 1983 and the pickups are dated June 1983. The electronics all function smoothly and quietly. The bridge is fully adjustable and clean as is the stop-tailpiece. The original pickguard is missing. The original 'chainsaw' case is present and in good condition. The guitar weighs 10.24 lbs. It rocks with authority and I'm guessing you already are familiar with the legendary collectibility of the Silverburst models. This one is a great addition to anyones collection-and makes for a great player on stage, in the studio or even just on the couch. It's a heck of a lot of fun to play. You know what to do.I have taken several photos to show how it looks in different lighting for your viewing. Photo props including signs, straps, cords, cars, shoes, dentures, toothbrushes, dust, albums, clothes or photos are not included unless noted otherwise.
