For example, Jörg Hermann personally hand-selected the woods for this guitar in the Gibson Custom Shop resulting in a beautifully flamed top and an ultra-light overall weight of the guitar of just 3580 grams. Furthermore, you will find a phenomenal color tone and gradient as well as a fabulous Heavy Aging of the Murphy Lab. Lacquer abrasion in the significant areas as well as the countless hairline cracks, dings and dongs not only look really good, but also guarantee an authentic vintage patina. The neck profile and pickups have been specially treated with a slightly slimmer Medium '59 neck profile that sits perfectly in the hand and invites wonderfully fast runs. The Murphy spec Custombuckers deliver exactly what you want from a reference Paula: the sound is incredibly airy, transparent and comes with exactly the mids and pearly highs that you associate with old PAFs. When you plug it into the amp the guitar is smacky, fat and as soon as you've played a few licks you won't want to let this dream player out of your hands.
