You can't go wrong with an early, Custom Colour, Fiesta Red 1966 Fender Precision Bass..!This was bought via the family of the original owner, as documented in the case, this bass was the proud possession of one Mr GF Lloyd who’s musical exploits are documented in the lid of the case along with a live photograph. The bass has definitely not lived under the bed. All over there are signs of use, though it's not been abused. There is checking and honest playing that tells of a well loved guitar. The colour is still strong and there doesn’t seem to be evidence of any other colours underneath or much fade either which is nice. The neck has a worn comfortable sheen along its length. Again there are no dinks. There are a few marks but mostly its just wear to the lacquer. The frets have plenty of life left. The headstock shows a few signs of wear but the decal is strong. Neck date reads Nov 1965.The hardware is in good condition with only a little corrosion evident on the bridge cover. Plastics too are in good shape with little or no shrinkage to the guard. Electronically everything is correct though some solder joint on the original pots have been reheated. Pots are both dated week 42 of 1966. Pickups are also dated to November of 1966The bass comes with its correct Fender hardshell case..Sonically this bass is fantastic. A true testament to Leo’s vision, the defining sound of the electric bass. There's plenty of tonal options with that unmistakable fundamental and growl. Iconic bass in an iconic Fender colour. What more do you want?
