This 2012 Collings D1A (Adirondack Spruce top / Mahogany back/sides) is a bluegrass monster! Check out the included demo video. To me, the Adirondack-topped Collings dreadnoughts, along with the Martin Authentic D-18s and D-28s, are among the best bluegrass guitars being made today. Of course, this guitar is stylistically versatile, but it flatpicks as well as anything and would compete well with a banjo! The top has aged to a beautiful golden hue over the last 12 years. The full model name for this guitar is D1AVN, which means it has the “Vintage Now” neck profile (slightly beefier overall, a bit rounder feel in the first position that evolves into a modified “V” further up the neck). The nut width is 1 ¾”. The guitar has been played a fair amount, so there is some minor surface wear as well as fretwear (primarily under the B string on the first few frets), but overall the condition is excellent. A K&K pickup has been installed.Asking $4,800 here on Reverb (slightly lower on other forums) plus shipping. Comes in its original Collings hardshell case.
