Stunning 1987 PRS Signature Model in a delightful Tortoise Shell finish. The Signature Series model was the first Ultimate Quality wood grade PRS and this early example has many of the features of this era that make these guitars so popular with players and collectors alike.  Described in the catalog as ‘Our Finest Instrument made from the Rarest Woods’ Featuring an exceptionally figured Curly Maple top, Lightweight Mahogany back with a Mahogany neck with a 24 fret Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard with Bird Inlays. Pickups are the PRS Standard R and T Humbuckers. Offered between 1986 and 1990 with approximately 1000 produced over the four years with each guitar individually hand signed by Paul Reed Smith on the Headstock.  The guitar is completely original and is great condition overall, well looked after it has been played and there is some light worming to the back of the body and a few edge knocks to the bottom of the body but nothing to detract from the overall appearance of the guitar. Other Features include the Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard, Small heel, PRS Standard 25inch scale length. Pickups are the PRS Standard Humbuckers with T and B stamped into the baseplates. Pickups are controlled with a 5-way rotary pickup selector knob, master volume and sweet switch. The pickups measure 9.84 K and 8.2 K in the Bridge and neck respectively.  A fantastic early PRS Signature model, it’s easy to see why these early examples have become collectible. Comes complete with its original PRS hard shell case.

The PRS Custom 24 is valued for its core features which include 24 frets, a solid mahogany body, maple top, and PRS’s patented tremolo system. It is a staple in the PRS lineup and a favorite among professional guitarists for its playability and tonal range.
