Description

Hey Gang... You guessed it...! A 1966 Gibson Everly Brothers Ebony J-180 in super condition with a Gibson J-180 Everly Brothers case. I have been after this guitar for some time. You guys no the deal. I finally get it from my old friend after years waiting. Here's the story. He finally got it from his friend years ago prior. The friends mother worked the brothels up in San Francisco back in the day. She also "performed" throughout the city as a quasi artist bringing in extra income. Hey, you have to love the stories of some of these old guitars. There's a millions guitars out there and 10 millions stories...!!! The guitar was immediately send to Cris Mirabella in New York. The only guy I let handle the precious cargo, so to speak. He went throughout the whole guitar top to bottom. The headstock finish was pretty funky, so he detailed that. Of course it needed a new pickguard. Trying to find the correct color and thickness was a bitch, but we got the real deal. There was a slight separation in the side that Cris dialed in perfectly. He's so good. The best thing, he left the vibe there 100%. He is the best...! It's like a J-185 but a slightly thinner body. Only 22 made in 1966. The bridge was designed by there dad Ike Everly. Jumbo body with Spruce top maple back and side. 24 3/4" scale. 1 5/8" nut. Brazilian rosewood fretboard with the infamous star inlays. It's got this great dynamic heft of 4.14 lbs. So you can throw it around or at each other on stage like "The Brothers" did...!!! All in all, when I was a kid in my bedroom late at night we had this old Zenith radio that you could pick up stations 100's of mile away and pick up shit from all over the USA. not only The Everly's, but Black, white, gospel, hillbilly country, jazz and soul. Little did I know it, but it would become the master of all my influences. Needless to say, this is a slice of Americana at its finest. Feel free to contact us for any questions regarding this guitar. We usually get back the same day.
