Highly-collectible vintage Gibson Prehistoric 50’s Reissue Les Paul - finished in Honeyburst and with an incredible flame top. This rare guitar was dubbed the '50's reissue, but is essentially Gibson’s first ever 1959 reissue that was launched ahead of the Custom Shop being founded in 1986, and prior to the latter 'Historic' R9 / 1959 reissues. This is essentially 'year 1' of the R9!It is in excellent condition for age, with minor blemishes on close inspection (most of which you'll struggle to see unless bouncing light off the surface as we have done in the photos). Some ageing to the binding, and a couple of small marks on the back of the neck, but these are on the surface so are not felt when playing. It's had a refret so the frets have little wear and are good to go. It has period correct features and the typical Mahogany body with flame Maple top, Mahogany neck (medium profile), Rosewood fingerboard and Gibson Deluxe tuners. It's a lightweight example weighing only 8lb 11oz, and the highly-desirable Tim Shaw pickups sound fantastic.It comes with its original paperwork, and a Gibson Custom fitted case to keep your investment protected.
