if you are in the market for one of these, you definitely want to try out this early version with the unique pickups. They put humbuckers in the later ones, might as well just get a Les Paul if you’re gonna do that! Having said that, they put a lot into this model to make it upscale, and a cherry burst LP isnt gonna make you stand out. this is. how else are you going to get that beautiful tiger maple flame on an early 70s Gibson? I’ve seen very few from the mid 70s on Reverb whether be an LP or LP Deluxe that had any real amount of flame on it over the last five years or so. This guitar has it all over, check out the back panel where they used the same wood to cover it instead of just a piece of plastic. I’ve read where eas their solid body version (or attempt) of an L5. In any case they made a really nice guitar, that sounds fantastic.
