The Les Paul Custom model is one of the best sellers in the Gibson Custom catalog: a performing instrument, with a powerful sound and a distinctive look. But sometimes the Les Paul Custom, with its white binding, the glossy finish and its gold hardware, loses that charm of an instrument with over 50 years of history. For this reason Gino Guitars in collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop created through the Made 2 Measure program these wonderful "variations": the Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Les Paul Custom Antique Ultra Light Aged. The base model is a Les Paul Custom as we all know it, but going deep into details we will find many aspects borrowed from higher range models. We wanted to give these guitars a vintage look: that's why we choose a Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged finish, which replicates the effect of time affecting the instrument with marks and cracks. In the same direction goes the vintage colored binding, borrowed from the 1957 Les Paul Custom "Black Beauty" model, and the choice of a nickel-plated hardware, which immediately brings to mind the features of the original Les Paul Custom of the late 60s with their faded hardware. Finally on electronics level we find the traditional set Gibson 490R and 498T: the tone is rich, powerful, perfect to space between Rock and Hard Rock, and even beyond.
