To hear an audio recording of this bass being played, scroll through to the end of the pictures.1966 Fender Jazz bass, Sunburst finish in very good condition. Tortoiseshell guard, Rosewood fretboard, original case. This is a transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck, Jazz Bass. It's a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. This bass is all original and complete with untouched solder and original '66 case.  Serial number:  143534. Weight:  8lbs 10.5oz / 3.93 kg. Nut width: 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.1 mm. Pickup DC resistence - neck:6.19 k / bridge: 6.44 k. The Sunburst finish has some very fine lacquer checking and some small dings and scuffs, mainly around the edges. The neck and headstock also have some lacquer checking and light play-wear. There are a few very small dings/scuffs around the edges of the headstock. Everything remains structurally sound and all hardware and electronics are in good working order.  It has original frets which are in great shape having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop and have plenty of life left in them. At one time the bass was fitted with a Fender body guard, evidence of which can be seen around the edges where you will notice it has affected the finish leaving a dull matte band.The neck is stamped May 66 A. Both pickups have original winds and unbroken solder, no dates are visible as the old sponge has completely stuck to the underside. The pots have unbroken solder. One volume pot date is obscured by the solder, the other volume pot date is the 21st week of 66 and the tone pot date is the 11th week of 66.Fully set in our workshop with great action and a fresh set of D'Addario Chrome flat-wound strings. It comes with a 3-month warranty and 14-day returns policy. Also included are some promotional pictures of the original owner in his band "The Five O'clock World"
