Item: USMA125506Actual Photos of GuitarSerial# 125506Just in this 1952 Martin D28 is as lively sounding a D28 you can put your hands on. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and Sitka Spruce Top have been perfectly aged over the last 72 years. Acquired from the family of what we believe was the second owner who purchased it in the 1960's. He recalled sending it back to Martin in the 1960's to have some work done and that could be where the enlarged Tortoise style pickguard was installed as it looks like period correct material and the top and pickguard appear to have been over sprayed at the time as well at the factory. The guitar has  had a proper neck set for very nice action, a solid center seam repair and a replaced ebony bridge as well. There is a strap button added to the neck heel and what appears to be a screw hole from a strap button on the upper back.  A K&K pickup and end pin jack have been installed. Overall the guitar is still in very good physical condition. Can't go wrong here.
