Collings’ Traditional or “T” Series guitars reflect the late Bill Collings’ return to his guitar making roots offering a new tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound. This traditional D2HA dreadnaught features a clean, natural Adirondack Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides with full satin sunburst finish, Ivoroid bindings and more. Collings’ Traditional Series variation represents their vintage-inspired approach to voicing and construction, which brings out a strong fundamental tonality and dry articulation with warmer high-end response. The custom satin ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer and lightweight build provide added nuance and responsiveness, making for an exceptionally dynamic and versatile instrument that shines in a variety of playing styles. Collings Satin (S) nitrocellulose finish, made popular on the Julian Lage models, give a vintage look and feel and also allows these tonewoods to breath. The traditional model is built using animal protein glue (AP) as well, making this exceptionally dynamic and responsive. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a warm, present low end and midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection. The traditional Mahogany neck carve and 1 3/4″ nut is a comfortable build with vintage 2 5/16″ string spacing and features a traditional bone long saddle as well. This guitar is in unplayed shape with light hardware tarnish, rated at 9.9/10. All original and free of any breaks, cracks or repairs.
