Description

Randy Rhoads' 1974 Les Paul Custom is one of the most iconic guitars in Rock history. The guitar, with which Ozzy Osbourne's wingman shot to fame on the groundbreaking albums “Blizzard Of Ozz” and “Diary of a Madman”, was one of the most eagerly awaited Gibson reissues. In 2010 the Gibson Custom Shop released it in a strictly limited edition of just 100 aged and 200 VOS specimens. But before the time came, this prototype was made using Rhoads' own Les Paul Custom, which we are delighted to offer you here. The guitarist, who sadly passed away far too early and was honored with an impressive two songs in the top 50 best guitar solos of all time (“Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley”), appeared at Ozzy Osborne's audition in 1979 with a practice amp in one hand and his beloved 1974 Les Paul Custom in the other. In recreating this original the guys at Gibson worked very closely with the Rhoads family to perfectly reproduce the rich amber color of the original guitar. But it's not just the look of Randy Rhoads' 74 Les Paul Custom that has been faithfully reproduced, the specs that characterize Randy's original guitar, such as the “Slim D Rhoads” neck profile, the gold-yellowed hardware and the “Gibson Custom Super 74” pickups, have also been taken into account. The result is not only a beautiful looking guitar with an iconic factor and the utmost rarity value, but also a merciless Rock guitar with the best playability that is just longing to be used for the well-known solos. The guitar comes to its future owner in absolute collector's condition.incl. original case, certificate, strap locks, letter of confirmation from Rumble Seat Musicweight: 4460 gramssubject to differential taxation
