Sonic Evaluation
I couldn't stop playing the changes to Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" on this guitar, probably because I want it to be by my side whether it's good or bad, happy or sad! It has a percussive, articulate attack, and it's extremely responsive, so much so that it feels almost like an extension of your hand. Overall, it has a sunny voice with a woody, warm low-end and, a punchy, rich midrange, and sparkling, glassy high-end. At lower volumes, it sounds downright chocolatey, and as you dig in and play harder, more and more overtones pop out of the soundhole as the sound gets lusher and lusher.
At all volumes, it sounds quite open and sweet. It has enough headroom to make a dreadnought look over its shoulder, but it also has an incredible capacity for subtlety and nuance. If you're looking for a Martin that will inspire Al Green levels of love and devotion, check this serial out!
