To see a video of this bass being played, scroll through to the end of the pictures.1966 Fender Jazz bass with a Sunburst finish in very good condition. Tortoiseshell guard, rosewood fretboard with binding and block inlays. All original and complete including the case. The Sunburst finish is in very good condition and still vibrant. There are fairly common signs of age and playwear, including small scuffs and dings which are mainly around the edges. There's some light lacquer checking throughout. The neck has light play-wear and the headstock has lacquer checking as well as some scuffs & dings around the edges. All hardware and electronics are in good working order including the truss rod. The frets are in great shape having been dressed in our workshop and the neck is straight. This bass is a great player with a superb, even sound right across the fretboard. The neck is stamped Aug 66 A. The pots all clearly date to 1966. The neck volume pot and the tone pot have visible complete dates of 6611 (11th week of 66), the neck volume pot is partially obscured by solder although I am confident it matches the other 2 as the week begins with a 1. The pickups have original winds but no dates are visible as the sponge is stuck to the underside. Fully set up in our workshop with great action and strung with a set of Ernie Ball round-wound strings. Serial number: 151217. Weight: 9 lbs 1 oz / 4.11 kg. Nut width: 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.5 mm. Pickup DC resistance: N, 6.28 k / B, 6.37 k.
