Description

Incredible 1955 1956 Fender Stratocaster in original super early 1950s case. This guitar is truly special as it still has 1955 pots and electronics.Serial#: 11143 The neck was factory-refinished in 1963 and carries the signs of the factory refin (pictures show the Fender factory rare R&R Restored & Refinished stock neck mark and a 60s decal). When this guitar was brought to the factory, Fender replaced the body with a 1963 body as the original one had been damaged, the body that was given still shows the 4/1963 date in the back and was refinished in later years in this super cool dark burst color. All Fender-authenticating factors are there including dowel holes, correct body marks and worm-route and paint nail holes. Neck and body, electronics (pots and pickups and most of the wiring), no-line 1950s Kluson tuners, bridge and tremolo system, case are original. The neck has original frets but needs new frets soon. Folks get picky about who refrets these so we will let the original owner decide. Knobs and pickup covers are replacements from the 60s and 70s. The capacitor was replaced with a nice repro as it had died. Pickguard and shield are repros, the original one were shaved and will be included in the case with the sale. The original tweed case was painted in a dark color which was a pretty common habit in the past, it is in really good shape with all latches that do not spring up but do work well. It is definitely not your minty instrument but boy, it plays and sounds out of this world and the idea of playing through 1955 pickups is just not something you get to experience every day. I will entertain trade offers for early player grade Les Paul or partial trades. Pickup in Boston, shipping available.
