Chet Atkins began collaborating with Gretsch in the 1950s, most notably with the Country Gentleman model. However, in the early '80s, he shifted his partnership to Gibson, leading to new designs like the CEC and SST models and eventually contributing to Gibson’s own Country Gentleman release.
