Description

‘This Gibson TG50 brings us back to an era that is very often forgotten. The 1920s and -30s in which jazz music became popular. Many guitarists played banjos as a rhythm instrument in order to be heard. During the 1930 there was a transition between 4-string banjos and 6-string guitars. The tenor jazz guitar was introduced during this period and is a very interesting crossover instrument, which was used quite a bit by players like Eddie Condon.’ Features:  Body Shape: TG50 Archtop Finish: Sunburst  Body Material: Maple  Top Material: Spruce  Bracing: Ladder Bracing  Body Details: Cream Binding, Black  Pickguard Neck Material: Mahogany  Neck Profile: V Fingerboard  Material: Rosewood Fingerboard  Details: Dot Inlay  Nutwidth: 30.2 mm - 1.19"  Scale Length: 584 mm - 23"  Bridge: Ebony  Tailpiece: Trapeze  Pickups: DeArmond Acoustic Soundhole Pickup  Tuners: Grover  Tech Notes: None  Travels in: Hardshell CaseThis TG50 comes from the introduction year: 1934. It is based on the L50 model and has a majestic sunburst finish. Considering its age, it is not surprising to find some signs of play and use such as scratches, dings, and slight weather checking on the neck and top. But overall, in very good condition for a ninety-year-old instrument. It plays beautifully – super comfy and easy for guitar players to adapt to. And it sounds the business – lovely classic tones from a very user-friendly instrument.
