1999 Martin 0000-38 CustomHere we have quite an unusual Martin acoustic which you may not of heard of, i hadn’t. The model was made in small numbers for Elderly music but the model follows the basic design of the more common Martin M-38. It has a 25.5″ scale length with a roomy pickers delight 45mm nut. With all those 0000’s you might expect it to be dripping with bling, but it’s rather sedate looking, with a pear dot neck ebony finger board and rather nice triple finger board WBW binding. The only abalone is within the rosette and the tight grained, i assume airondek spruce top, is 7 ply WBW with 3 ply to the rosewood back and sides. The guitar is 4″ deep at its deepest and 16 ” across the lower bout. The neck is a comfortable C profile and obviously aimed at the finger style player. The guitar is set up nicely and in good overall condition for its years but it does have a crack to the top heading south from the middle of the bridge to the lower rim which we have had repaired and cleated so will pose no problems moving forwardComes with its original Martin hard case.
