Description

Butterscotch Blonde, Own a piece of musical history, the original electric bass that started it all! This example is a really good old nitro lacquer refinish on ash body that is quite lightweight at 8.5 pounds. Has a maple neck and fretboard with soft V neck profile, very comfortable and easy playing bass. It has a high quality repro Black Bakelite pickguard (might be original). Is otherwise all there except for the finish, pots and decal. It even has the original covers, great sounding original single coil pickup with plenty of output and growl. The neck dates 12-17-51 and the serial number on the bridge is 0382. It’s in great shape, the previous owner has taken fantastic care of it since 1991. Shows some jean rivet wear on back, the first few frets show some pitting, but it sounds and plays great. This is highly desirable, highly playable and highly collectible. Comes with a repro copy of a 1951 catalog description and a non original snake skin hard case. Consigned.
