This is a custom made Infinitum archtop acoustic completed in 2020, and reconditioned in 2024, one of only 9 worldwide. It has been out in the wild for a couple of years and has returned. It does have an imperfection near the endpin on the treble side - a timber defect which is reinforced internally by the tail block, but does look like a crack. This has been stabilised along with other minor cosmetics and refinished.The instrument is made from Native New Zealand timbers, Kahikatea soundboard and neck, and Black Maire back, sides, fingerboard, headstock facing and bridge. The timbers are harvested here in NZ, and heat treated (torrified) in house. In place of traditional bracing, carbon fiber 'singlepoint' bracing not only holds the strings, but allows the soundboard to resonate freely, yielding a harmonically rich and responsive guitar. The bracing contacts at the neck block, under the bridge and at the tailblock. It isn't glued along the insides of the soundboard like a trditional steel strung guitar.The unique soundholes direct sound toward the player and allow more of the 16.5" soundboard to resonate.
