Beautiful, near mint 2005 Gretsch 6122-1962 “Country Classic”.
On February 9, 1964, The Beatles appeared for the first time on The Ed Sullivan Show. George Harrison was playing his 1962 Gretsch Country Gentleman, which of course made it famous. This beautiful one-owner reissue is close to the original and puts that classic Gretsch look and sound in your hands!
All original gold-plated hardware, including two Filter’Tron pickups, individual volume controls for each pickup as well as a master volume control, three-way pickup selector switch (neck/mixed/bridge), a three position master tone switch, and a “kill” switch (on/off/on) located below the volume control for the bridge pickup. A zero fret, “thumbnail” style position markers, Grover “stair step” tuners, and a Gretsch by Bigsby vibrato tailpiece complete the package.
This guitar is cosmetically nearly flawless. There is a very small, slight imperfection on the top. It was apparently there when I purchased the guitar new but went unnoticed until years later. It’s so small that I was unable to get it to show up in photographs, measuring approximately 1/16” x 1/8”, but I included a photo with a red circle indicating it’s location. The gold hardware looks as you’d expect it to look on a nearly 20 year old guitar, as depicted in the photos. There is a very small nick on the top corner of the included OHSC, shown circled in red in one of the photos.
Shopping for a guitar for a guitarist in your life? Maybe that guitarist is you? This one is already priced below market and perfect for anyone that appreciates that classic Gretsch sound!
