You are looking at a beautiful sounding and playing 1964 Gibson Johnny Smith. The changed parts are: 1) It has been refretted by Leeroy Aiello, a well-known archtop repair and restoration guru for vintage D'Angelicos, Gibsons etc...guitars in New Jersey. 2) The hookup cable to this original pickup was changed due to it's age by Lindy Fralin pickups. I still have the old cable, all else about the pickup is original to the 1964 guitar.3) I had a very high quality ebony bridge saddle custom handmade for it, and it intonates perfectly. The one that was on the guitar when I purchased it had a bone top which was not original to the guitar bridge. The bridge base is original to the guitar.4) I had my repair man make a pickguard that works better for my picking style. It has a volume pot on top and a tone slider pot under the pickguard. The original pickguard and original volume nob and pot are in the case as you can see in the photos. If the buyer would prefer, I would be happy to have my repair man put it back on. All the original parts are there. No holes were added to the guitar for installation.Repairs:Only one. long before I purchased the guitar, like 30 years or so. It had a slight neck crack that is barely visible and was repaired many, many years back. It was repaired so well that the previous owner didn't even know that it had had a neck crack. When buying the guitar I didn't know initially that it had had a neck crack either. I went back to the nice guy that sold it to me and he took some money off the price that I had paid for it. It does not affect the sound, playability, intonation, or stability in any way.Cosmetic imperfections: As you can see in the photos a very small piece of binding has chipped off on the left tip of the head stock. Included will be : The original case and case cover, as you can see in the pictures. The original pickguard with volume pot and nob. A 1/8" to 1/4" inch cable. This is a wonderful 1964 Johnny Smith that sounds amazing and plays beautifully. The fretwork on this guitar is immaculate, "Jascar 47095". I would think any player that wants to play a Johnny Smith from 1964, would want a refret.
