The bass features a beautiful tortoiseshell guard as well as a slab rosewood fretboard with "clay" dots. It's a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard and is supplied in a Fender reissue tweed case made by G&G. Serial number: 57520. Weight: 9 lbs 4 oz / 4.19 kg. Nut width: 37.8 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 19 mm. As well as the refinish, it's also been re-fretted with era-correct small frets and has a new decal, a few non-original screws (holding down the covers) as well as new cloth wire. Everything else is original. This bass is from my personal collection and I have owned it for around 12 years. The refinish is of the highest quality and was already done when I got it. The Lake Placid Blue has aged perfectly and has a green hue. The maple neck has a beautiful flame in the grain especially noticeable on the face of the headstock. The body finish has lots of very fine lacquer checking as well as small dings and scuffs. The neck finish has worn leaving it very smooth in the hand. The headstock has a few bumps and scrapes around the edges. Everything remains structurally sound and all hardware and electronics are in good working order. The frets are in excellent condition. The pencil dates on the end of the neck and in the neck pickup cavity are very difficult to make out in full. On the end of the neck, only the last digit is legible and is a zero corresponding to 1960. In the neck pickup cavity, the month is not visible, only the year remains, again this is 1960. Both pickups have black bobbins and the original winds. The pots date to the 39th week of '60.This bass has been fully set in our workshop with great action and a fresh set of D'Addario flat-wound strings. It comes with a 3-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy.
