Description

A 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom was the guitar of choice for John Fogerty at the height of his CCR days. If you watch the music video for "Lookin' Out My Back Door," you will see him strum one while sitting in the couch -- grinning ear to ear. That's the same feeling we get picking up this guitar. This guitar has undergone the following changes: one coil rewound in each pickup, replaced truss rod cover, replaced bridge tone pot, replaced jack, replaced strap buttons, refret, new nut, finish touch up on binding, 2 back plates stacked from the factory to make level with back, wired stereo from the factory but was later converted to mono. These Les Paul Customs were major purchases for musicians when new, and the manufacture of these helped Gibson feed the market's desire for the previously retired Les Paul model of the 1950's. The late 1960s were a time of transition for Gibson, in terms of design, but this particular guitar still has some great classic specs including a wide nut width and lack of volute. The sound of the original humbuckers bring you right to the Summer of Love.OHSC included.
