A beautiful example of the rare Gibson CF100. These guitars are one of, if not the earliest flat top cutaway designs, and have become very popular with many notable musicians. Desired for their warm, woody tone these guitars make for wonderful recording instruments as well as songwriting companions. X-braced spruce top, on Mahogany back & sides, and the classic Gibson sunburst finish. This guitar is extremely lightweight, and it's small size makes for a very comfortable guitar you can play for many hours on end. They're quite unique with the Florentine cutaway, which offers great access to the upper register and a really cool aesthetic as well. This example came out of Alberta, Canada and was stored properly by the original owners for over 40 years. This guitar has had the tuners replaced, the bridge re-seated, a strap pin added to the heel, and the centre seam repaired many years ago. There is also a small chip on the bass side of the upper headstock. No other cracks, breaks, or repairs. This guitar makes a wonderful addition to any collection, a great songwriters tool, and is just a joy to play. The guitar plays very well in the lower register, but could benefit from having the neck reset for optimal playability. Truss rod is working well, as intended in both directions.
