A REAL BEAUTY! This model of Benedetto seven string guitar rarely comes on the market for sale. In fact, I haven’t seen one available in years. I’ve been told that this model was superseded by the Bravo Deluxe seven string. But, the Bucky Pizzarelli model features a 3 inch body depth whereas the Bravo Deluxe seven string is 2 1/2 inches. So since I've owned a couple of Bravo's I can say you get a little more of the true jazz archtop sound. But also, Bravo's are fantastic guitars. I believe you can custom order the Bravo Deluxe seven string from Benedetto with a larger body depth. I’m not really sure why Benedetto stopped making the Bucky Pizzarelli because it has fabulous tone and plays like a dream. Some basic stats, the lower bout is 16", upper bout 12.5", 22 frets joining the body at the 14th fret. Nut width is 2.125" Ebony fingerboard and bridge, 12" radius( I'm not 100% sure on this and I don't have a radius tool but this is what the Bravo's are and I'm pretty sure they are the same) with 12th fret abalone floral inlay. The top and back are laminated maple and the sides are carved maple. As you can see, this one has some really great flame to the back and sides. I have it confirmed with an email from Bob Benedetto that this is a 2005 manufacturing date (see photo of label at 090 meaning this was the 90th one they made. Incidentally, Bucky Pizzarelli's actual guitar was a 070 or 70th one made.) I will provide a copy of the email from Bob to any seriously interested buyers. I bought it in 2006. I have this one listed as in very good condition as per the Reverb.com definitions. It’s a beautiful guitar, but there are several very small dings and some light scratches that I think you would find with any guitar of this age. The ding in picture 11 is the largest at 1/4 x 1/8 of an inch. All the rest are mostly 1/8 of an inch or smaller. They really aren't noticeable until you get the guitar close up in the right light. I'm fairly sure that a qualified luthier could get most of them out with a good buff and polish. But the finish is nice without any nitro finish checking that I can see. My guy here in Sacramento is backed up 6 months. I hate to part with this guitar but now that I’m in my 70s I don’t find myself performing as much as I used to and I think it’s time for what someone else to take over the reins.. It comes with the original hardshell case which is in good condition, but shows some road wear. I just now added a short and embarrassing video of what the guitar sounds like. You should be able to scroll through the pictures or click on the embedded video below. Feel free to contact me directly for more details and information. There's just not a lot of information about the Benedetto Bucky Pizzarelli guitars online. I have round wounds on it but I'll include a new set of flatwounds for those that prefer them. Thanks for reading all this and your interest.
