This is a wonderful 1956 D-28 with a recent neck reset, that is ready to be played.The beautiful straight grained Brazilian Rosewood on the back and sides is a rarity, and the type you don’t find on new guitars.  I purchased this D-28 from the original owner. He sent it back to Martin in 1978 for a top replacement, after the top cracked. The return to Martin has been verified with Martin.  The neck has all original finish as are the tuners. The now 46-year-old top has fine finish checking and some play wear on the upper treble bout top area. The back and sides were refinished when the top was replaced, and also show light checking, aging, and some light play wear. The finish was done at the factory with nitro, and blacklights correctly.  The bridge plate is the correct smaller sized plate that was standard for these. The neck was reset by Dave Strunk in August of 2023, and playability is excellent.
