Vintage Correct Parts is proud to offer, for your consideration, A fantastic 2012 Gibson L-5CES -- Custom ordered Florentine Cutaway with a stunning "Teaburst" finish! We are beyond thrilled to offer this incredible one of a kind custom ordered L-5CES! In 2012, before Gibson once again changed regimes, and began it's strange obsession with solidbody guitars in neon colors and long lost prototype designs that probably should've stayed long-lost, they were still making INCREDIBLE high end archtops. Why this legacy has been allowed to fall by the wayside is a mystery, as the ES-175 is now out of production and the L-5 and Super 400 no longer exist on their website - these flagship instruments deserve their place at the top of the food chain, but we digress...This amazing L-5 is a true "one of one" we have never seen another modern L-5 with these attributes. Custom ordered and built in the Nashville Custom Shop in 2012, the original owner was thinking of "Movin' Wes" when he put this request in: A "sharp" cutaway L5 - referred to as the "Florentine" cutaway - just like the L-5 produced between the years of 1960 and 1968 - and a nice light "Teaburst" finish - just like the Sunburst finishes Gibson used around 1965. We have heard that Gibson had to dig out the old L5 Florentine cutaway fascia dies from the 60’s to produce this guitar and ONE other example we've seen - a sharp cut Wes Montgomery Model - no expense was spared on the construction of this amazing archtop - which is evidenced by the insanely flamed AAA bookmatched and fully carved flame maple back. This L-5 plays effortlessly and sounds incredible. As good, if not better, than any vintage L-5 we've played, it is truly a special instrument and the fit, finish, and attention to detail is nothing short of masterful. This example is 100% original with no modifications. It was played lightly and lovingly so - babied since new and stored in the case when not in use - it does show some general sings of use but is incredibly clean for a 13 year old guitar. With all original factory hardware and finish, including the now sought after "Classic 57" PAF humbuckers. Neck is a classic gentle "D" profile, which plays effortlessly with smooth low action over fine original medium jumbo frets. The tone is warm, rich and sweet, as befits an instrument of its distinguished pedigree. Original GIBSON CUSTOM crushed velvet lined hard case, Custom Shop COA, Warranty Card, Case Keys and Case Tag are included as pictured. Only one available, don't miss out! WE SHIP WORLDWIDE!
