1999 D’Angelico NYL-1 17” ArchtopThe NYL-1 was the flagship model of the Vestax D’Angelico line (at least of the conventionally-shaped guitars, they also made a Teardrop model) and was a built-to-order handmade guitar. Exceptionally rare, it was made from all solid woods, with a hand-carved German spruce top (subtle bear claw figure) and maple back. These also featured a custom ebony tailpiece and pick guard.

There is only the most minor and minimal surface wear that has to be looked for. The binding has shrunk along the neck in some places, where it is a bit wavy, but doesn’t interfere with play and is inconspicuous. There is a little bit of finish delaminating over the headstock logo.***While most instruments from the Vestax D’Angelico NYL series can be found out in the world, the NYL-1 is exceptionally rare. It’s the only model that is completely hand carved and made entirely from solid woods. Even at the time they were made in the late 90s / early 2000s, their prices exceeded $10000 and only built-to-order. Rarity aside, it has a beautiful sound both amplified and unplugged and is expertly crafted from the finest materials. Thanks for looking. Any questions please feel free.
