The figuring is exceptional, with dark contrasting streaks with flamed figuring across. A timeless set of wood, it made it’s own music and harmony in the coastal forest for possibly thousands of years, then fell through natural causes and submerged in the surf to age and now it makes music again.The back and sides of this beauty come from a great set of African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon), a true Rosewood from central Africa properly named for it’s deep, dark coloring. A heavier Rosewood, this rare wood is said to rival the tone of the famed endangered Brazilian Rosewood, considered the Holy Grail of tonewood.Fully bound in figured Hawaiian Koa with matching Koa rosette, backstrip, heelcap and custom wedge along with herringbone top trim, Ebony fretboard, bridge and slotted headstock overlay and finished with EVO Gold frets and Gold Waverly tuners with Koa buttons, this is a stunning handcrafted guitar, that will make a great addirtion to any collection.
