Offered for your consideration is this magnificent Collings I-35 Deluxe completed in 2011. You will see a lot of these fine guitars in our inventory (when we can find them) simply because they are among the very best semi-hollow electrics being built today. This guitar has a solid (as opposed to laminated) carved and an optional quilted maple top with binding and optional black/white purfling over a semi-hollow mahogany body with a maple center block. The mahogany neck is Collings' medium/fat C-shape, measuring .865" at the first fret, increasing to .965" at the twelfth fret. The nicely figured rosewood fingerboard has upgraded parallelogram inlays and binding. The bone nut has a width of 1-11/16", the fretboard radius is 12". The pickups are Lollar Low Wind Imperials which sound superb in this guitar. The guitar is very light in weight (7 pounds) and superbly balanced. It is finished in “caramel” nitrocellulose lacquer. These I-35's are a joy to look at, play and listen to. I don't know how Collings does it, but each of their I-35 models plays like it was carved from a single block of wood. This guitar is light and resonant, with a voice that puts any ES-335 to shame (IMHO). Please check out the brief sound sample included herein. No matter what style of music you play, this guitar is a worthy tool for your creativity. This guitar was built while the late great Bill Collings was still with us and his signature appears on the interior label. This guitar is in "excellent plus” condition, with only some very light oxidation on the hardware to keep me from classifying its condition a mint. The frets look like new as well. It comes in its original Collings / Ameritage case, also in great shape.A new I-35 Deluxe with the options on this guitar will now cost you an incredible $9.5K.
