This is an excellent example of a vintage 1965 Fender Jaguar model in Sunburst finish. The guitar is 100% original and in exceptional condition. It was made in April 1965 at the original Fender factory in Fullerton California, U.S.A. This Jaguar has been professionally set up and needs nothing-it is ready to go. Let's Dance...The body has the typical pre-CBS offset deep contours front and rear which provide a very comfortable feel. The finish is unfaded and shines brilliantly. The color bands are symmetric and blend with precision. There are a couple of small nicks along the edges. On the side of the guitar near the back strap pin there is a small scratch that has been touched up. The backside of the body looks just as clean as the front. The neck slot has a prefect paint stick shadow and two factory neck shims which yield an excellent neck angle. The neck itself is perfectly straight and the truss rod functions. The neck stamp indicates a manufacture date of April, 1965. On the backside of the neck, the hand-written number '1' appears as always. The neck is smooth with a glassy feel. It has a vintage C-shaped profile and the girth measures .791" deep at the 1st fret and .962" deep at the 12th fret. The nut is the standard 'B' size and measures 1.62" wide. The original kluson tuners are nickel and have a slight patina. The headlock and logo display just about as perfect as they can. The logo is in exceptionally clean condition and may be the nicest original Jaguar logo in existence-see photos. The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is clean and has a nice velvety feel. The action is set low for a fast and easy playing experience. The string height currently measures .010" at the 1st fret and .050" at the 12th fret. The neck angel is excellent and the bridge is full adjustable so you can raise or lower the action if you prefer that. As it is, it plays excellent up and down the fingerboard with a light touch. There are no dead spots or doinks and the guitar is lots of fun to play. It has a nice resonance even when not plugged in. The pickups both have an excellent signal and very good balance-something you don't always get in an offset. The neck pickup measures 6.34 ohms and the bridge pickup measures 7.05 ohms. The neck position provides a full tone perfect for rhythm strumming. The bridge pickup is ver versatile and has a brilliant 'bell' tone and that quintessential vintage Fender chime that we all love. With both positions, the guitar sounds similar to a Stratocaster in the middle position but with a bit more low end. The controls all function smoothly. The potentiometers date to the 8th week of 1965. The cloth wiring harness is in excellent condition as is everything underneath the hood. The pickguard is clean with no breaks or cracks and it fits very well. The original Fender mute is present as is the vibrato arm. The bridge saddles are again in excellent condition. The vibrato functions smoothly. The guitar has a real nice weight-it only weighs 8.31 lbs. It feels excellent on a strap or in your lap. It is very fun to play and just has a killer vintage feel to it. This guitar is a great example of a collector piece that will only continue to escalate in value. I can't think of an investment that is more fun to play with. It would make a real nice addition to anyone's collection. Comes complete with original Fender hard case and keys which are still unopened, in the original envelope. I have taken several photos to show how it looks in different lighting for your viewing. Photo props including signs, straps, cords, cars, shoes, dentures, toothbrushes, dust, albums, clothes or photos are not included unless noted otherwise.
