To see and hear this bass being played - scroll to the end of the pictures for a video.1968 Fender Jazz Bass with a Sunburst finish in excellent condition. Maple neck with a Rosewood fingerboard and White binding. The case has the 1966 logo on it but that doesn't mean it couldn't have left the shop back in 68 with this case. Without a time machine I can't say for certain one way or the other. A section of paint has been removed down to the wood in the neck pocket. Otherwise all original and complete with untouched solder. Being made in '68 it still retains a nitro finish on the neck and headstock. This is an excellent bass with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. This bass has tons of tone and the growl is fantastic. With both pickups and tone up full this bass really sings with loads of top-end, the mids punch through and the bottom end holds it all together. The body finish is still very vibrant with little to no fade. There's a small amount of playwear with a few scuffs & dings around the edges. The neck finish is in excellent condition with only some light wear. The frets are very clean having been dressed in our workshop and have plenty of life left in them. The truss rod works as it should and the neck is straight. The headstock is clean overall but does have a couple of small dings and some lacquer checking. Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 45-105 round-12ound strings and low action giving great playability. Serial 223345. Weight: 8 lbs 15.5 oz / 4.07 kg. Nut Width 37.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.6 mm. The neck is date stamped, Sep 68 A. The pickups have untouched solder and original winds. They both have pencil dates of Sept '68. Pickup DC resistance: N 6.57k B 6.76k. The original pots also have untouched solder and are all dated to the 31st week of 66. 3-month warranty and 14-day approval period included.
