This 1935 Gibson L-00 has a huge voice and is in excellent condition! Check out the included demo video. The first thing that stands out about this L-00 is the remarkable shape it’s in. I’ve had a number of L-00s and L-0s through here, but typically they’re pretty beat up; this one, on the other hand, has lived most of its life in a case. So, it’s a 90 year-old guitar that already sounds awesome but will likely continue to open up as it receives more playing time! The sunburst pattern (with a more concentrated orange center) is eye-catching, as is the original firestripe pickguard. The neck has been reset, and there is plenty of saddle height. The finish passes the blacklight test. It has been buffed a bit so it’s a little shiny, but according to multiple sources (Edward Dick at Victor Guitar and Beau Hudson at Music City Vintage Guitars), the finish is entirely original. The guitar has also been refretted and had the freboard planed slightly as part of the work, which is pretty common. There is quite a bit of lacquer checking as well as moderate surface wear and a handful of scratches. The main area of pickwear is actually on the treble-side upper bout. The tuners are replacement Golden Age Restorations, which function great; the original tuners are included in the case (two of them are a little stiff). The nut width is 1 ¾”, and the neck has a nice heft to it.I recently had Music City Vintage Guitars appraise this L-00 for $6,500, which is the asking price everywhere but here on Reverb (higher due to the fees). Includes newer tweed TKL case.
