To see a video of this bass being played, scroll through to the end of the pictures.1993 Rickenbacker 4001 V63 in Mapleglo with the original silver case and owner's manual. It's in excellent + condition and all original. Rickenbacker excelled with their vintage reissue series. These 4001 V63 Basses are some of the best they ever made. The production of these basses began in the '80s and the V63 is the forerunner to the C64. It was based on the 4001S basses used by McCartney and Chris Squire and featured no binding, dot inlays, a toaster pickup at the neck, and a horseshoe at the bridge. They are excellent, well-made instruments at a fraction of the cost of the vintage originals.  This Bass, as already mentioned, is in excellent + condition - aside from a couple of small scuffs around the headstock and a few very small dings around the edge of the body. The frets are in great shape with very little playwear. All hardware and electronics are in fine working order. The truss rods are fully functioning and the neck is straight with fantastic action having been set up in our workshop. The bass is strung with a set of round-wound strings. Serial: A69647. Weight: 9 lbs 14.5 oz / 4.5 kg. Nut width 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret 22.7.

About 1993

The Rickenbacker 1993 is a unique and rare model of electric guitar produced by Rickenbacker, known for its distinctive features and limited availability. Introduced in the 1960s, the Rickenbacker 1993 is often associated with musicians like Pete Townshend of The Who, who used this guitar during the band's early years. One of the most notable features of the Rickenbacker 1993 is its stereo capabilities, which was somewhat uncommon at the time of its production. The guitar features a "Ric-O-Sound" stereo output, allowing players to send the signal from each pickup to separate amplifiers or channels. This feature provides greater tonal versatility and allows for more complex soundscapes. In terms of construction, the Rickenbacker 1993 typically features a semi-hollow body design, which contributes to its unique tonal characteristics and resonance. The body is crafted from high-quality woods, and the guitar often features Rickenbacker's signature "cresting wave" body contour, which enhances comfort and playability. The Rickenbacker 1993 is often finished in the classic Fireglo color, a deep red sunburst finish that adds to its vintage appeal. Due to its limited production and unique features, the Rickenbacker 1993 is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Its association with iconic musicians like Pete Townshend has further contributed to its desirability among guitar aficionados.
