D1A made in 2006.This dreadnought is Bill Collings' favourite royal combination of Adirondack spruce on the top and Honduran mahogany on the sides and back. The top has a wide grain with a powerful bearclaw raised. There are a number of picking marks on the top, but otherwise there are no other noticeable scratches, dents or repairs. No pickups or strap pins have been fitted. The frets are fine, except for a few dents from wear on the first and second strings from the first to the third fret. The neck is in good condition and the string height is set low at the 12th fret, 2.0 mm on the 6th string and 1.5 mm on the 1st string. There is plenty of room in the saddle. The sound is very voluminous, with a powerful bass that swells when stroked strongly. On the other hand, the mids and highs are crisp and pleasant to cut.Comes with a genuine hard case.Top : Selected Adirondack Spruce
