This Epiphone John Lennon Revolution Casino is the one and only true reproduction of the “stripped” Casino that John famously used in many situations like the iconic rooftop concert or in the Revolution music videoThe history of the John Lennon Revolution Casino dates back to November 1997 when a team of engineers from Epiphone and Gibson USA visited ‘The Dakota’ in Manhattan, NYC to examine John’s Epiphone Casino because the entirety of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band is laced with the raw P90 tones of this fabulous instrument. Other notable players include of course George Harrison and Paul McCartney, but also Keith Richards, Noel Gallagher, Dave Davies, Brad Whitford, Shirley Manson, Paul Weller, The Edge, Glenn Frey and many more. Enough reasons to go for a reissue! During the examination, measurements were carefully performed, body tracings were done, drawings were created, and photographs were taken. As a result of these efforts and in cooperation with Yoko Ono, Epiphone proudly reissues two Limited Edition John Lennon Casinos. Each guitar is hand-numbered, and a combined total of only 1,965 John Lennon Epiphone Casino’s were produced. The body and neck were build by the great craftsmen at the Terada factory in Japan, and then further assembled and tested at the Gibson USA factory in Bozeman, Montana. This John Lennon Signature “Revolution” Casino Features the Original Body Shape of the casino, based upon mid-sixties Kalamazoo, Michigan tooling specs and the original Corian nut material and the ABR Bridge with nylon saddles. Also, John’s original serial number is stamped on the back of the headstock (#328393). These are mighty fine guitars and incomparable with the later on introduced ‘inspired by’ series that were made by Samick in South-Korea. She was well taken care of and with only one ding on the back, her condition is rated as excellent.
