c2013 Eastman 15” Seven String Carved Archtop (803CE715)Over the years I’ve seen some unusually spec’d Eastmans, and this is one of them. It’s a fully carved, hollow, acoustic archtop, but 15” at the lower bout and with seven strings. Seven string archtops from Eastman are a bit of a rarity as it is, and typically are seen in 16” or 17” sizes. Nice to have this configuration with a slightly smaller 15” body. Some scattered marks in the top, and a small worm / indent in the treble side, inconspicuous but found in raking light. Light fret wear in lower frets treble strings, with the most wear under the B string and slightly further up the neck. No issues with playing. Current setup about 5/64”-4/64” with a touch of relief, with plenty of room on the saddle to go up or down. The Benedetto floater looks to be non-original, but is done well and would be considered an upgrade from the stock electronics.***I love to see these more unique Eastmans. This collection of specs makes for a guitar that is recognizably different, and may be just right for someone who finds 16” or 17” to be wider than is ideal but is seeking the extended range of a seventh string.
