This Adirondack-topped 1943 Martin 00-18 sounds gigantic! Check out the included demo video. This guitar has the prewar/wartime Martin magic. It’s amazing how much sound some of the old 00s can produce, thanks to the quality of the craftsmanship, scalloped bracing, and lightweight construction (this one only weighs 3 lbs 4 oz.!). It is highly responsive, and the tone is rich and both deep and airy at the same time. The nut width is the typical 1 11/16”.I recently had Al Smith perform a neck reset and install a new nut and Brazilian Rosewood bridge. Dave Johnson followed up with a compression refret and new saddle. The finish, tuners, pickguard, and bridgeplate are original, and the top and back are completely crack-free. In addition to quite a bit of surface wear, there is a tiny impact repair on the treble side and a minor repaired crack on the bass side. There are also small areas of overspray on the top and lower rim near the end block, but these are pretty lightly applied.I recently had Beau Hudson of Music City Vintage Guitars appraise this 00-18 for $10,500, which is the price I’m asking here. Comes in newer Martin hardshell case.
