This is my, as brand new, unplayed, Rocky Strat.Number 41 of 1000.Bought as an investment piece, but needs must and time to let Rocky go to a new loving home. This guitar comes with all the usual case candy plus I've added the official George Harrison white leather strap, Rocky guitar cable and tin of picks. The Fender Artist Series George Harrison Rocky Stratocaster is based on the original guitar he wielded with the Beatles. The year is 1965. George Harrison and John Lennon send their roadie Mel Evans to get a Stratocaster for each of them. He returned with a pair of guitars in Sonic Blue. This original colour can still be seen on the back of the original guitar today. George called his 1961 Strat “Rocky” and used it for the first time on the Beatle’s Rubber Soul album. In 1967, it was totally fashionable to paint all kinds of objects with bright psychedelic colours. So George decided to paint Rocky with fluorescent Dayglo paint, which was a brand new thing at the time. He played the guitar a lot, so you can hear it all over the following albums; Revolver, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour and the White Album. Each one has an alder body, which according to the manufacturer has been lovingly painted by hand with a replica of Harrison’s famous psychedelic brushstrokes. Every little detail has been captured, from the artwork on the pickguard and the plastic parts to a simulated Grimwoods sticker on the back of the headstock – the name of the original music store where the guitar was purchased. The pickups are a vintage-style trio of 1960s-style single-coils. That according to Fender, will ensure a dynamic, crystal clear tone reminiscent of the golden era of ’60s Strat tones. It has a C-shaped maple neck (mid-60s contour) with a rosewood fretboard with a 7.25′′ radius fitted with 21 vintage frets. Finally, the Rocky Strat has a correct synchronized tremolo and vintage-style Kluson style that completes the appearance and feel of a classic ’60s Fender instrument. This version is limited to only 1000 pieces worldwide.Open to sensible offers.Ideally I'd prefer this guitar to be collected, but it can be posted at the buyers expense.
